MADE AT OLOLO
Designed at Ololo Made by hand
For over a decade, we’ve designed original furniture at Ololo — considered pieces defined by sustainably sourced timber, enduring form and exceptional Kenyan craftsmanship.
THE WORKSHOP
See it come to life

01
Raw Timber Selection
Every piece begins with sustainably sourced timber, hand-picked for grain, character, and strength — straight from Kenyan plantations or reclaimed from the coast.
02
Milling & Seasoning
Logs are milled to dimension and air-dried over months. Patience here means stability later — timber that won’t warp, twist, or split.
03
Hand Crafting
Our fundis — Peter, Charles, Elijah and Emmanuel — cut, shape, and joint each piece by hand. No production lines, no shortcuts. Just decades of skill and a sharp chisel.
04
Finishing & Oil
Surfaces are hand-sanded through successive grits, then finished with natural oils that penetrate deep — protecting the wood while letting the true grain shine through
05
The Finished Piece
What leaves the workshop is more than furniture. It’s a one-of-a-kind piece, built to be used, lived with, and passed on for generations.

Our Timbers
We use only sustainably sourced timber — plantation-grown in Kenya or reclaimed from retired dhow boats along the coast. Every species is chosen for its character, durability, and story
IN THE WILD
Life with Ololo furniture
Pieces in their natural habitat — the lodge, the lounge, the light.

The dining table became the heart of our home. Every guest notices it, every meal feels special.

We waited six weeks for our custom bookshelf and it was worth every day. Absolute perfection.

Ololo doesn't make furniture — they make heirlooms. Our desk will outlive us, and that's the point.
