Welcome to Ololo Handmade Furniture. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Ololo Handmade Furniture website and your purchase of furniture and related products from us.
By accessing our website, requesting a quotation, placing an order, or purchasing a product from us, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. About Ololo Handmade Furniture
Ololo Handmade Furniture creates handcrafted furniture in Nairobi using sustainably sourced timber, including plantation-grown Kenyan timber and reclaimed timber from retired dhow boats along the Kenyan coast.
Each piece is individually crafted by skilled fundis and may therefore contain natural variations in grain, colour, texture, knots and other characteristics of timber. These variations are a natural part of handcrafted furniture and should not be considered defects.
2. Products & Craftsmanship
Our furniture is handcrafted rather than mass-produced. Each piece is individually cut, shaped, joined, sanded and finished.
Because natural timber is unique, the final product may differ slightly from photographs, samples, sketches or previously produced pieces.
Dimensions, colours, grain patterns and other visual characteristics may have minor variations.
We reserve the right to make reasonable craftsmanship or material adjustments where necessary to ensure the structural integrity, durability or quality of a product.
3. Product Information
We make reasonable efforts to ensure that product descriptions, images, dimensions and other information displayed on the website are accurate.
However, images may not represent the exact appearance of the final piece, particularly where natural timber is involved.
Customers should contact us before placing an order if they require clarification regarding dimensions, materials, finishes, colours or other product specifications.
4. Orders & Custom Furniture
Some Ololo furniture is made to order, and custom pieces may be produced according to specifications agreed with the customer.
Before production begins, customers may be required to approve the relevant specifications, dimensions, materials, finishes or design details.
Once a custom order has entered production, changes or cancellations may not be possible.
Any additional costs resulting from customer-requested changes after approval may be charged separately.
5. Pricing & Payment
All prices quoted by Ololo Handmade Furniture are subject to confirmation at the time an order is placed.
For custom or made-to-order furniture, a deposit or advance payment may be required before production begins.
An order will only be considered confirmed once the required payment has been received and the order has been accepted by Ololo Handmade Furniture.
Any applicable delivery, installation or additional service charges will be communicated separately where applicable.
6. Production Times
Handcrafted furniture requires time to manufacture. Production and delivery timelines may vary depending on the complexity of the order, availability of materials, customisation requirements and current workshop capacity.
Any production timeframe provided to a customer is an estimate unless expressly confirmed otherwise in writing.
Customers will be notified of significant delays where reasonably possible.
7. Delivery
Delivery arrangements, fees and estimated delivery dates will be communicated to the customer before fulfilment where applicable.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that the delivery address is accurate and that the furniture can reasonably be delivered to the intended location.
Additional charges may apply where delivery requires special access, additional labour, stairs, narrow entrances, long carrying distances, assembly or other circumstances outside standard delivery requirements.
8. Inspection Upon Delivery
Customers should inspect their furniture as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.
Any visible damage, missing components or significant issues should be reported to Ololo Handmade Furniture promptly, preferably with photographs or other supporting evidence.
Natural characteristics of timber, including variations in grain, knots, colour and texture, are not considered damage or defects.
9. Returns, Exchanges & Refunds
Returns, exchanges and refunds are subject to our Return Policy.
Because many Ololo pieces are handcrafted or made specifically to order, certain products may not be eligible for return or cancellation.
Customers should review the Return Policy before placing an order.
10. Furniture Care
Natural timber furniture requires appropriate care to maintain its appearance and condition.
Customers are responsible for following any care instructions provided with their furniture and for protecting the furniture from excessive moisture, prolonged direct sunlight, extreme heat and inappropriate cleaning products.
Normal ageing, changes in timber colour, minor movement of natural wood and other characteristics associated with natural timber are not necessarily considered defects.
